Start your adventure with a spectacular early morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,840m). The short flight offers unparalleled views of the Himalayan foothills. Follow the Dudh Koshi River valley on a relatively easy trail winding through pine forests and leading to the charming village of Phakding (2,610m). Relax and unwind for the evening.

Today, prepare for a slightly more challenging trek. Cross several suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River, gaining elevation. Enjoy your first glimpses of Everest as you enter Sagarmatha National Park. Finally, ascend a series of switchbacks to reach the vibrant Sherpa town of Namche Bazaar (3,440m), a bustling hub for trading and acclimatization.

This rest day is essential for proper altitude adjustment .Explore Namche Bazaar's colorful markets, shops, cafes, and bakeries. Consider the optional 'Everest View Hike' – ascend to the Everest View Hotel, famed for its jaw-dropping panoramas of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam.

Leave Namche Bazaar, heading west via a less-frequented trail towards Thame village (3,820m). Immerse yourself in the peaceful landscapes, traversing rhododendron forests and traditional Sherpa settlements. Visit the historic Thame Monastery, an important spiritual site for the region's inhabitants.

Begin a steady ascent from Thame, leaving the tree line behind as you hike into the alpine terrain. The landscapes open up to expansive, high-altitude meadows and the soaring peaks of the surrounding mountains. Reach Lungden (4,380m), a peaceful settlement offering dramatic views.

Let’s begin the first of the three significant pass crossings. The ascent to Renjo La (5,360m) is challenging but richly rewarding. At the summit of Renjo La Pass, be treated to breathtaking vistas of Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, and surrounding peaks. You'll see Gokyo's turquoise lakes far below. Carefully descend into the Gokyo Valley (4,790m), home to pristine turquoise lakes and glaciers.

Hike to Gokyo Ri (5,360m) for sunrise: Enjoy spellbinding views of Everest, Makalu, Lhotse, and nearby icefalls. Take the opportunity to rest and soak in the incredible tranquility of Gokyo, perhaps walking along the shores of the glacial lakes.
